Movie: This movie is about a young woman who suffers with anorexia. She at first denies that she has a problem, then due to malnutrition, she has to be hospitalized. Being of age, she signs herself out. The battle with her appearance and weight loss fluctuates through out the movie.
Connection: The movie relates to Anorexia Nervosa in chapter 9. It is a condition when a persons weight loss is 15 percent below the expected body weight. They may have distorted images of themselves, menstruation ceases due to lack of nourishment, and they may even hide food or throw up food eaten around others. Force-feeding might be called for in extreme cases.
